The design of ETHIC is a work in progress and will continue to be so throughout 2011. It is discussed publicly here as a way in which to elicit ideas that will help us improve the design in such a way as to better to serve our families.
Our intent is to utilize no government funds, utilize some of the homes, especially the four bedroom units for HUD vouchers, market rents and below market rent units. Thus, improving the funding for supportive services for ETHIC apartments.
The Salvation Army will have a separate parcel for 22 units and the remaining 144 units will evolve from the ETHIC Housing Trust to a Limited Liability Corporation with American Riding Club for the Handicapped, Second Baptist Church Homeless Coalition, Riverside Charitable Corporation and Orange County Community Housing Corporation as partners. The initial managing partner will be Orange County Community Housing Corporation.
